Substantive Editing
Some authors have great ideas and exciting concepts, but they lack the gift of being able to transform those building blocks into a compelling manuscript. For these clients we provide both ghostwriting and coauthoring services, depending on the level of collaboration desired or required by the client.
- Ghostwriting—This is writing on behalf of or under the name of another writer, based on that person's ideas. The author supplies the ideas, reviews, provides critique, and ultimately approves the ghostwriter's work. The ghostwriter becomes thoroughly acquainted with the author's ideas and writes the book the way the author would. However, only the author receives credit for the work.
- Coauthoring—When the client desires more of a collaborative effort, we enter into a coauthoring arrangement, wherein both coauthors contribute their ideas and shape the final work. Both coauthors receive credit and are responsible for the final work.
