Sales Representative
The Sales Representative will work, in concert with Scribe management, to sell Scribe's services to publishers and other content producers.
Responsibilities include prospecting, setting appointments, meeting with potential clients, and assisting with customer relations. All sales activity should be recorded within the Scribe sales database. The sales representative will be strongly supported by Scribe's Director of Publisher Services, and will be provided with collateral materials. The sales representative will help maintain these materials, develop proposals and bids, and monitor developments in the publishing industry. Compensation is a combination of salary and commission. This is an excellent opportunity for those who have good connections to those who create content (publishers, associations, large businesses, etc.), as demand for Scribe's services is up over 25% so far this year.
Strong sales ability, in either the publishing industry or a related field, is crucial. The candidate must be well-organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills. It is helpful to have knowledge of the publishing process and computer technologies. It is also helpful to have an understanding of mark-up languages (HTML, XML, SGML) and their applications.
