Assistant Web Developer
Employee will be responsible for assisting in the management and development of all of Scribe's Web-based tools and products. Included in these responsibilities is work involved in the development of SQL database-driven Web sites using PHP-driven open source systems, and helping to develop our Well-Formed Document Workflow tools. Other duties include semantic tagging to electronic documents, data conversion and multiple electronic book development from disparate sources.

Included in these responsibilities is work involved in the development of SQL database-driven Web sites using PHP-driven open source systems, and helping to develop our Scribe Publishing System tools. Other duties include semantic tagging to electronic documents, data conversion and multiple electronic book development from disparate sources.
Employee should possess Web site maintenance and development skills. Ability to learn quickly, attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines are essential. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of SGML, XML, and XSL. Knowledge of the publishing production processes, data conversion, and foreign languages (especially Spanish) is helpful.
Skills required include:
- XHTML (including CSS)
- Database driven Web site development (PHP, MySQL, Apache, ASP)
- VBScript, JavaScript, or PERL
- Experience with a Content Management System (especially Drupal) is preferred
